Swinging in the Rain
Whilst his hardworking Papa slept in, Dan and I went for our morning walk to the coffee shop on the beach. It was a beautiful overcast day (that's living in Southern California for you), with the smell of rain in the air. We hit the swings just before the first drops began to fall.

Freak Out Jam ™
To steal a quote from our friend Heather, this is too long a video except, perhaps, for Grandparents. The jist is we were decorating our wee tree and Danny was watching. We started filming because he was doing the patented Daniel Butler Freak Out Jam ™ and we wanted to get it on film. He only does it fleetingly for our camera, but if you are patient enough to watch the whole thing, you will be rewarded.
Our Healthy Lad
So today, at approximately 7 1/2 months of age, Dude has graduated to the 12 month clothing. Yesterday he measured 19 lbs and about 28 1/2 inches. Some wiggle room in the girth, negative in the length. He's a tall fella.
He's a great eater, and will try just about anything. He's eating lentils, chicken, peas, you name it. So far, he's only rejected beets, which bums me out due to 1 - his Polish heritage; and 2 - they are such an awesome color. But they say let kids try something 10 times before you give up, so maybe we'll get a picture next time of him sticking out a phenomenally purple tongue in disgust.
Tonight, after the beets incident, he was a little peckish during his bath, and decided to take matters into his own hands, or mouth, as it were. (Note the octopus waiting on his belly for his Secondi...)

P.S.
People don't really ask me if Danny is David's kid. I was making a (clearly failed) attempt at humor, mostly because they are practically carbon copies of each other!

Lemon Face - or Not.
So many of you ask me (and it's a little embarrassing, to be honest) whether Danny is really David's child. After all, they really don't look anything alike.*
In an effort to prove my case, I offer you this video. What Danny is eating here is a lemon.
Yes, a lemon. I thought this would be funny, and he would immediately drop it. Apparently not.
If this doesn't prove he is David's child, I don't know what would. Maybe if he was eating lemons with a dash of cayenne pepper.
*TOTALLY KIDDING!!

Sitting Up
One day, he can't sit up on his own. The next day...sitting up on his own for long periods of time. He also got a new play mat that doubles as a tote for all his toys: fun and a tidy house enhancer!
Like Pittsburgh streets, you can't get there from here.

Snugglin', Then Gettin' Low with the Comare
Grandpop's visit
So Grandpop came to visit, and he was a lifesaver. Between showing off Speeders and bringing carrot airplanes into the hangar, we don't know how we would have survived this week without him. Thanks Grandpop.

Somebody's a little too aware of the camera...

Here come the carrot airplanes....
Travel Town...we'll have to go back to ride the choo-choo.
