The Bjorn is a hit

("I get to be the guy from 'B.J. and the Bear'," Jon said right before this photo was taken, leaving me with the lame Paul Riser role if Mary were to recreate the awesome (sarcasm) 80's sit-com "My Two Dads". Danny would be playing the sassy teen daughter.)

Mary's friend Rain turned 30 and celebrated by having a picnic at the Bette Davis Picnic Park. We decided that Danny would be ready for the bjorn so he would he could get a better view of people, trees, and the occasional passing horse. Danny loved the bjorn. Loooooved it. He mingled. Chattered up the ladies. Danny is very smooth.

He frequently leaned his head back to look up at the tree branches, eyes full of awe. When he travels to Virginia and Delaware, we will just place him on his back outside and let him go nuts.

The Copycat

I call this, "Let's see how many ridiculous sounds I can get Mom to make."

Fortunately, I stopped short of mimicking the barfing.

3 Months!

A day in the life of a 3 month old Danny…

Wake up. Eat. Propped up time. Standing up time. Go to the beach. Sleep. Eat. Play. Short nap. Play. Play. Upsadaisy time. Play. Shooooort nap. Tummy time/Photo shoot. Eat. Tummy time/Photo shoot. Eat. Go for a walk. Play. Bath. Eat. Sleep.

Oh, and squeal a lot.

And sound like various dinosaurs from 'Jurassic Park'.

A Day at the Library

Mom had to go for work, so Danny and Pops spent the day in the children's room of the Los Angeles Public Library.  His head size grew a full 5 inches in that one day.  Amazing!

Oh, Simon

Cloth Tastes Good

Who needs all those expensive goods like teething rings and food?

We've got cloth!

Yo, Adrian!

You can take the boy out of Philly, but you'll never get the Philly out of the boy.

E.T. Phone Home

Where's Danny?

Zen Baby

Ommmmmmmmm.....

Two Dudes

Not only do they look alike, but they sleep the same.

It's genetic, I guess.

Quick and Easy Costumes

So many uses for a burp cloth…voila, Danny is an elf. Well, actually, in this photo, he's an angry elf. Grrrrr. Maybe he's casting some elfin spell.

Wait, what? That's not a burp cloth? It's a cloth diaper?

Yes, Danny will now be referred to as Diaper Head Danny.

Rock.

NBOTL

When Li-La is around, it's time to get naked.

Within moments of arriving in Venice, Li-La had Danny's outfit off because "he" is hot.

He is very happy about this, as you can see. No, that are not her hands holding his up in joy. That is simply an illusion.

Grandmothers are rad

Danny loves Nana time.

And yes, he is not quite 3 months old. Somehow he looks like he is four in this photo.

Happy 4th of July!

Well, good things can't last forever.

We finally got the dreaded voicemail from our landlord, Warren, about the demolition or the former hair salon next door and planned construction of a two story mixed-use building (with 35-foot wall). It looks like we might have to move from our beloved and insanely cheap beach bungalow. This is truly tragic. However, in light of said voicemail, we decided that we absolutely had to make it to the beach, for maybe one last time, to watch the fireworks.

Nana is in town, and perhaps because I told him about ten times a day, "your Nana is coming on Friday!" Danny was a little excited and didn't sleep much from about 1pm to about, oh, just a moment ago at 10pm.

Well, cut to quarter of 9pm, and as the 100th bottle rocket exploded feet from our limbs, the photo above was how Danny was looking...Munch's Scream, as John calls it.

But then the real fireworks started, and we decided to cross the sand to get a better vantage point (go Bugaboo!).

As the glorious fireworks exploded up and down the Southern California coast...

Danny slept like a baby.

Go figure.

Every day, Little Man is less of a weeble-wooble.

Happy Independence Day

That's right. His t-shirt says "Little Firecracker".

And he's wearing red socks.

And army cargo pants.

Nothing says America like cargo pants made by little Indonesian children earning 3 cents a day.

14 Going on Undead

Our dog is crazy.

They Only Watched 10 Minutes of that R-rated Movie

So today, Dad was at work and Mom had to go to a very important meeting. Woody was already babysitting a kid down the street.

It was time to call in The Godparents to babysit.

John changed his first diaper, with an assist from Julia. Danny napped for two hours. Throw in some bouncing and a few goofy faces with some minor spitting up through the nose…and we are thrilled to report that Danny still has ten fingers and ten toes. Success!!

We officially bestow upon them the title of Best Babysitters Ever (cheap t-shirts and mugs made at a kiosk at Cloverfield Mall to be made eventually).
