And all in all, a pretty darn delightful trip. We stopped over at the Elliotts in Reston last night, had a seriously knock-down drag out legendary game of Apples to Apples (which resulted in a 4-way tie, which required a unprecedented final round, which resulted in a final tie between Shanen and Colleen). The kids were upstairs "sleeping" - Danny was not in top form, so he really was trying to sleep, while Caroline was trying to have the proper slumber party she had been promised. (He'll be in better shape next time, we promise.)
Danny's mind was blown by Caroline's collection of Toy Story toys, including a Buzz Lightyear that "worked" - versus ours that "doesn't work" - i.e., is cheap. Ha.
Anyway, we approached today like a war, and it worked - we were over-prepared, over-trained, and expecting the absolute worst. And it was uneventful! Hooray!

Matthew, who is truly the most active, unable to sit still baby in history, took to his carseat like a jungle gym - he was standing in it and pulling up on the handle - hey, whatever works, man!
